Prunes are packed with potassium, fiber and vitamin k also,it has been documented that plum and prunes have the ability to increase absorption of iron into the body. This recipe is for babies 6 to 12 months old. After 12 months you can use it as a topping on cinnamon toast.
Nutrient Dense Hemp Baby Food
(Soaked Prunes & Hemp)
1-2 soaked prunes
1 tsp ground hemp seeds
1 teaspoon Coconut Manna
Directions: Soak the prunes overnight. I like to keep a jar in the fridge with prunes soaking all the time. They are a great source of all nutrient listed above plus they are sweet and yummy. Add the ground hemp seeds and Coconut Manna blend with just enough water so it is not too runny.
Suzie Q tip: If you have never used Coconut Manna, it needs to be warmed in hot water. Put a wash cloth in the bottom of a 1 quart pot then fill with cold water and place onto the stove and turn to medium hot until it boils for a minute. turn it down to the lowest setting and let it warm up for another 4-5 minutes. Take out of the water and stir like you would peanut butter.
