Hemp Latte Recipe & Other Hempy Things…

by Karmiin on February 11, 2012

Serves 1

You will need:

  • 6 oz organic original hemp milk
  • 6 oz organic original almond milk
  • 2 tablespoons softened Coconut Manna*
  • 1-2 tsp agave or coconut sugar
  • 1-2 shots of organic espresso
  • Espresso machine

*Soften Manna –You will need to emulsify your Coconut Manna only once,  just as you would peanut butter; by stirring it . Though first it needs to be warmed.  Place Manna in a pot and fill with water just below the lip of the lid, then put the pot and the stove and heat on low medium heat for 10-12 minutes.

Directions for a hot latte

Make 1-2 shots of espresso and set aside. Put one shot into your mug and add the coconut manna to this shot stir and emulsify the Manna and espresso completely. Pour in the cold hemp and almond milk into the steam pitcher. Froth it up for 1-2 minutes. Add the hot frothy milk to your cup which should have the Manna and other shot of espresso in it. Pour the second shot of espresso and add any foam from steaming to the top then drizzle with  agave syrup.

Enjoy.

Check out my new finds!

I’ve found a sweet flowy hemp skirt and the cutest hemp felted soaps. I haven’t tried the soap yet but I think it will make a nice addition in the kitchen on display above the sink and its so unusual, I’m sure it will be a definite  talking piece. Using natural soaps is good for us. :)  The commercial soaps out there have many chemicals that are harmful and remember, our skin absorbs everything we put on it–like a sponge! Like wise, if we are using laundry detergents that are commercial, they are not only harmful for the environment (polluting waterways & slowly killing eco systems) our skin is absorbing those nasty toxins! If you’re curious about other options, I’ve  found  an organic detergent! There aren’t many brands out there that can claim the status and reviews of having a 100% certified organic laundry detergent.  This new soap can make that claim because their laundry detergent grows on trees. The brand is called Eco Nuts. Weird? Yes…though once you see what they can do and if your any thing like me,  you’ll be telling all your family & friends to switch. Happy Soaping.
